Homebuyer Counseling Training and Certification

The Minnesota Home Ownership Center is offering homebuyer counseling training and certficiation for housing professionals that provide counseling in Minnesota, or other interested professionals.

The training is designed for new housing counselors with some experience. Participants will learn to assist consumers in resolving barriers to homeownership. Activities include determining mortgage readiness, prequalification, reviewing credit reports and other key counseling components. 

Participants interested in obtaining certification must complete the training and pass the in-class exam.

COSTS: 
The deadline for registration, at a cost of $400, is Friday, October 15, 2010. Late registration (with the Center's permission only) is $450. Registration priority will be given to current network providers. 

FOOD: 
Morning and afternoon snackwill be provided. Lunch on your own.    

ACCOMMODATIONS: 

The Center has reserved a block of 8 rooms at a room rate of $89/night at the Roseville MN Fairfield Inn - 3045 Centre Pointe, Roseville MN 55113; located less 5 minutes from the training site. To reserve a room, call 651-636-7869. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This block of rooms will be available through September 23, 2010.  

REFUND POLICY: 
A tuition refund will be granted, less a $25.00 handling charge, to those individuals requesting withdrawal at least 48 hours before the start of the first session. No refunds will be granted after the 48 hour deadline
